My stay at Mekong Hotel was a bit of a mixed bag. While the location by the river is a significant plus and the rooms are spacious, the cleanliness left much to be desired. The staff were not particularly friendly, which added to the overall disappointment despite the reasonable prices.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were a decent size, but unfortunately not very clean. I had issues with the door not closing properly, which was frustrating.
Service
5.0
The service was lacking; the receptionist was not welcoming at all and seemed indifferent to my needs.
Location
8.0
Being right by the Mekong and close to the center with plenty of restaurants nearby was a highlight of my trip.
Dining
6.0
I didn't try the dining options at the hotel, but I heard there's a good Vietnamese breakfast available.
Facilities
5.0
Basic facilities were available, but the internet connection was unreliable, making it hard to stay connected.

My stay at Mekong Hotel was generally pleasant thanks to its spacious room and strategic location by the river. However, the noise at night and the need for a bathroom update somewhat diminished the overall experience. Still, the good value for the price makes it a decent choice. 😊

Rooms
7.0
The room I had on the top floor was huge and very comfortable, featuring A/C and a nice bathtub, though the bathroom could use an update. I found some mud stains in the tub that were a bit off-putting.
Service
6.0
The staff were friendly, but their limited English made communication a bit challenging. I also noticed that there weren't enough chairs in the common areas for guests using the wifi.
Location
9.0
The hotel's proximity to the center and its spot right by the Mekong River provided stunning views, especially at sunrise and sunset. Plus, it was within walking distance of various restaurants.
Dining
8.0
The mini bar prices were surprisingly cheaper than those outside, which was a nice perk for late-night cravings.
Facilities
6.0
While there was a shuttle service, I found the wifi connection inconsistent, particularly in the rooms. It worked better in the lobby area on the second floor.

I spent two nights at Mekong Hotel, alternating between two rooms. Both were spacious and equipped with the basics. but they could use some updates. The air conditioning was a bit noisy, and while the cleanliness was decent, the linens felt worn. The lack of a lift was inconvenient, especially with luggage, and the service quality left something to be desired.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were big and had queen beds, along with old air conditioning and a fridge. However, the windows had no actual view and the furniture felt dated.
Service
5.0
Service was a downside. there was often just one or two staff at the front desk, and the language barrier made communication difficult.
Location
8.0
The hotel is nicely situated right by the Mekong River. with a lovely view from the garden café and a short walking distance to restaurants.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast options leaned heavily towards Asian cuisine, which was expected but might not cater to everyone.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel offered basic amenities like free WiFi, but it was slow and difficult to connect to in different areas.

I stayed for three nights at the Mekong Hotel, which offered clean and spacious rooms for a reasonable rate. The bathrooms could use some updating, as the shower only managed to be warm most times. While I appreciated the hospitality and the staff's everyday cleaning with fresh towels, I found the presence of many school tour groups a bit overwhelming during my stay.

Rooms
6.0
My room was spacious, with just a few issues. It was generally clean, but I encountered a weird stain in the tub. The furniture felt old, and while the bed was comfortable, the windows didn't provide much soundproofing, making noise from outside quite noticeable.
Service
5.0
Service was adequate, but interactions felt minimal. The staff greeted me occasionally, but the overall atmosphere lacked warmth. Still, I appreciated that my room was cleaned every day.
Location
8.0
The hotel is conveniently located right by the Mekong River, which is great for taking walks and enjoying the view. I really liked how close it was to the river, enhancing my experience in Thakhek.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast options were limited, primarily focusing on traditional Vietnamese dishes. However, I did manage to get bread and butter when I asked. The coffee was excellent, which was a nice perk.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities included basic amenities, but I found the absence of a shuttle service to be a downside. Overall, it met my needs but didn't provide anything really good.

The Mekong Hotel offers a prime location right by the Mekong River, presenting stunning views, especially at sunset. However, the outdated décor and inconsistencies in service leave much to be desired. My experience was mixed, with a value in location overshadowed by the rather shabby accommodations.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were quite large, but the condition was disappointing. I noticed dilapidated bathrooms and some areas had unpleasant cleanliness issues.
Service
5.0
The staff's limited English skills made communication challenging. Moreover, the lack of a warm greeting added to the cold atmosphere of the place.
Location
8.0
Being right by the Mekong River was fantastic. It made for lovely morning and evening views, and the hotel was conveniently close to the center.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was available, primarily offering traditional Vietnamese options. I did enjoy the coffee, but the limited choice didn't cater much to different tastes.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel does provide some basic amenities, but there were no major facilities that impressed me. The WiFi was inconsistent, which was frustrating.
